Trust in Care - Rationale Arts

Recently I had the pleasure of attending a performance called Trust in Care, which was produced by Rationale Arts, a fantastic charity that works towards making the arts accessible to all. The performance told the story of two siblings in Local Authority care who had been separated, and their struggle to cope with this, using various mediums including poetry and dance. I was hugely impressed by the performance, and pleasantly surprised with how it provided a relatable account of being separated from a sibling, as well as using metaphors and visual representation that really resonated with me in relation to my personal experiences. The performance seemed to flow perfectly and was engaging from beginning to end, something I was slightly concerned may not be the case beforehand due to the fact the story being told is one of a sensitive nature. However, the story was covered comprehensively yet tactfully throughout. Perhaps what I was most impressed with is how accessible the performance was, having both somebody signing the entire performance as well as audio description for all. Overall, I enjoyed the performance very much, and look forward to watching further shows by Rationale Arts in the future.

Thanks for reading,
